The periodontium is examined in a most thorough manner. Depending on the severity of the disease, treatment varies from normal, thorough, scaling and prophylaxis of teeth when symptoms like red and swollen gingival tissue are seen. A deep scaling (root planing) of the teeth are explained and given to the patients. Occasionally, regenerative periodontal surgery is discussed and given to patients.

Endodontics is the removal of a infected, painful nerve from a tooth. Root canal therapy is necessary when the inside "pulp" of the tooth is inflamed or infected. There are a variety of causes for inflammation or infection: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip on the tooth left untreated.
Inlays and onlays are two types of fillings used in back teeth. Inlays fill cavities, restoring strength and stability to damaged teeth. They are molded to a precise fit and have a very natural appearance. Onlays cover the entire surface of the damaged tooth; they are used when a tooth is too decayed for regular fillings or inlays. We craft both our inlays and onlays from ceramic material, for a great result that will give you something to smile about!
Missing or badly decayed teeth can be replaced with ceramic crowns and bridges. Crowns fit like jackets over damaged teeth. They provide improved strength, chewing power, and aesthetic appearance. Crowns can also be used along with bridges to fill in gaps left by missing teeth. Ceramic bridges attach discreetly to the teeth surrounding the gap, and they hold new crowns in place. The result is improved function and a great smile!
Dr. Brown's specialty is utilizing implants that attach to removable partial and full denture appliances. He is a professor of this kind of treatment at Mount Sinai Medical Center
